Tom's cousin, Bill Fairchild, flew his Piper Meridan into PDK to join us for Christmas dinner on his way to Naples, Florida...Diane was suppose to go for a few days but decided she just had too many things to do, so it was offered to Don and Josie, meanwhile Tom and Marilyn were patiently waiting in the wings....
So very late Christmas nite, Don and Josie decided to take the opportunity to get away and spend some well deserved time alone... in true Ruf spirit, Marilyn, soon to be a Ruf too, came up with a practical joke. We packed our bags, (for real) set the alarm for 6AM and arrived at PDK by 7:30AM like we were the real passengers...what a surprise when Bill came thru the doors...followed by Don and Josie. Josie was so excited that we were going too!!! Tom asked Don..." what are you doing here????
We truly hope that this Ruf practical joke will be remembered for years to come, because Tom and I drove back home, and were back in our bed by 9AM with visions of white sandy beaches dancing in our heads.
